Gracile is a list of possible futures laid out like a fan, some of which double back into the past, some stay painfully the same,
but most tell of how it will inevitably get a bit worse as capital and authority work together to devalue the human experience further.
Even songs about love or relationships have a hint of pessimism about them, as they are stunted by the world capital has created.
It implies that the way out of the present is to turn back, and retract time, progressing through an offshoot from the past to
achieve a better future, rather than rattle on the tracks we are headed. Societies that will become multiplanetary and outlast suns
and galaxies will need to accomplish a (metaphorical) telepath, a form of instant communication, empathy and understanding;connecting
on a level beyond the physical. Le Guinn and Stapleton were cooking with these ideas. Yet despite this manifesto, people are all so
confusing and none understand each other. Codes and secrets are kept out of primal instincts to push back against co-operation. Greed
and short-termism(capitalism) form as coping mechanisms for individuals to cope with the death of their corporeal selves, rather than
giving to a collective that is perpetually maintained meaning that in essence, you can never really die.
